Two-factor authentication protects your Proton account even if someone learns your password.
- Install an authenticator app on your phone, such as Proton Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator.
- Sign in at account.proton.me.
- Go to Settings › All settings › Account and password.
- Turn on Authenticator app under two-factor authentication and follow the prompts to scan the QR code.
- Enter the 6-digit code from your app to confirm.
- Save your recovery codes somewhere safe, such as your password manager.
