Microsoft 365: set up two-step sign-in (MFA)

Two-step sign-in protects your account even if someone learns your password. You will need your phone.

  1. On your phone, install Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. On your computer, go to aka.ms/mfasetup and sign in with your work email and password.
  3. Select Add sign-in method, then Authenticator app, and follow the prompts.
  4. When a QR code appears, open Microsoft Authenticator, tap +, choose Work or school account, and scan the code.
  5. Approve the test notification on your phone to finish.

We recommend also adding your mobile number as a backup method on the same page.
